Poker

Poker is a card game that can be played with any number of players. It is a gambling game, where the objective is to make the best five-card hand.

In most poker games, there are 52 cards in a deck. The cards are ranked from Ace to King. Each hand must contain a minimum of two cards from each rank. A pair is two cards of the same rank, and a flush is five cards of the same suit.

Fours of a kind is a type of poker, which is made up of four cards of the same rank. These are called quads in some countries. However, it is not possible to have fours of a kind in standard poker.

In poker, the higher the rank of a card, the better. For example, the highest card beats the lowest. And if multiple people tie for the top card, a high card will break the tie.

The best hand is the one that wins the pot. When comparing pairs, the winner is the pair with the highest rank. If two pairs have the same rank, the winner is the second pair. Likewise, the winning flush is the flush with the second highest card.

Some poker games allow wild cards. Wild cards are the cards that can be used to complete any suit. Those with all four deuces are the wild cards.

The first player to ante up puts money into the pot. Players in the middle of the table place a bet and those to the left of the dealer have a small blind.
